Katana
A DeFi-focused chain built by Polygon and GSR, connected to other chains through the Agglayer.
Katana is a DeFi-focused chain incubated by Polygon Labs and the trading firm GSR; its mainnet opened in the summer of 2025.
It concentrates liquidity in a few core apps and returns to users the yield earned on assets held in its bridge. It connects to other chains through Polygon’s Agglayer (distinct from the Katana DEX on the Ronin chain).
Incubated by Polygon Labs and crypto market maker GSR, Katana Network was purpose-built to solve DeFi liquidity fragmentation. Instead of scattering capital across dozens of redundant forks, it concentrates liquidity into curated spot, lending, and perpetuals venues.
Through its VaultBridge architecture, underlying bridged assets (ETH, USDC, USDT, WBTC) earn base yield on Ethereum L1, which is then routed back into Katana’s active DeFi markets to boost real returns for users.
