Monad

Mainnet since November 2025. An EVM-compatible L1 that executes transactions in parallel, aiming at thousands per second. Its official bridge (built on Wormhole) connects it to Ethereum.

Monad is an EVM L1 whose mainnet opened on 24 November 2025. Ethereum apps run unchanged, while it executes transactions in parallel with 0.4-second blocks, aiming at thousands of transactions per second.

An official bridge built on Wormhole connects it to Ethereum. The chain is less than a year old, so its figures move quickly. Gas is paid in MON.

Monad preserves 100% EVM bytecode compatibility while replacing single-threaded execution with optimistic parallel execution—running non-conflicting transactions across multiple cores simultaneously.

Paired with a custom asynchronous state database (MonadDB) and pipelined consensus (MonadBFT), it targets up to 10,000 transactions per second and 0.4-second blocks without requiring data-center-grade hardware.
