MegaETH
Mainnet since February 2026. Chasing “real-time” performance with 10 ms mini-blocks; thousands of transactions per second are the goal, so its roads are full of trucks.
MegaETH is an L2 built around the idea of a real-time blockchain; its mainnet opened in February 2026. Mini-blocks every 10 milliseconds confirm transactions almost instantly.
It targets thousands of transactions per second by concentrating computation in one high-performance sequencer — which is why this district’s roads are full of trucks. It is based on the OP Stack and posts its data to EigenDA rather than to Ethereum.
MegaETH overcomes traditional blockchain bottlenecks through node specialization. Rather than forcing every node to re-execute every transaction slowly, a high-performance sequencer streams 10-millisecond mini-blocks using an in-memory state tree, while replica nodes apply state diffs to stay synchronized.
This real-time architecture enables latency-sensitive applications—such as fully on-chain central limit order books (CLOBs), real-time multiplayer games, and high-frequency DeFi—while posting data to EigenDA and settling state roots to Ethereum.
