Fraxtal
The L2 of the Frax stablecoin ecosystem. Fees are paid in the FRAX token.
Fraxtal is the OP Stack L2 opened in February 2024 by Frax, the stablecoin project. It is an optimium: its data is kept on its own store (FraxtalDA) rather than on Ethereum.
The district revolves around Frax’s stablecoin and staking assets, and it rewards users for activity on the chain. Fees are paid in the FRAX token, not in ETH.
Fraxtal serves as the dedicated home chain for the Frax Finance ecosystem, spanning stablecoins, liquid staking (sfrxETH), and algorithmic lending. Its signature ‘Flox’ blockspace incentives reward both users who spend gas and developers whose contracts attract activity.
By operating as an OP Stack optimium with FraxtalDA, it keeps transaction fees near zero while anchoring Frax’s suite of stablecoin and real-world yield products.
