ZKsync Era
A ZK rollup that settles with zero-knowledge proofs — the hub of the Elastic Network of ZK chains.
ZKsync Era is the ZK rollup Matter Labs opened in March 2023. It posts zero-knowledge proofs that its batches were computed correctly, and L1 verifies them.
It is the hub of the Elastic Network, which links chains built with the same technology (the ZK Stack). Its ZK token launched in 2024.
ZKsync Era was built from day one around zero-knowledge validity proofs and protocol-level native account abstraction. Users can pay gas fees in ERC-20 tokens like USDC, or let applications cover gas entirely through built-in paymasters.
Beyond its own mainnet, ZKsync Era anchors the Elastic Network—an interconnected cluster of ZK Stack chains (including Abstract) that share a unified proof-aggregation layer and native cross-chain liquidity.
