A Superchain L2 oriented toward AI agents and DeFi.
Mode is an OP Stack L2 whose mainnet opened in January 2024. It first focused on DeFi yield and later turned toward AI agents that manage assets on-chain.
It has the MODE token, and fees are paid in ETH. It is a small district, so its roads are quiet.
Mode initially attracted builders through protocol-level Sequencer Fee Sharing, returning a portion of network transaction fees directly to smart-contract developers. It subsequently pivoted to become a specialized hub for autonomous on-chain AI agents.
Rather than requiring users to manually manage complex yield strategies, Modeโs ecosystem focuses on smart accounts and agentic workflows that automate liquidity provision, rebalancing, and DeFi execution.
