Unibase (UB): A Decentralised Memory Layer for AI Agents

Long-term memory and links between agents, on BNB Chain

Unibase aims to let AI agents (programs that carry out tasks on their own) remember conversations and experience over time and share those memories with other agents. UB is the token used for its fees and governance, and it began trading in September 2025.

1. The problem it targets

Many AI agents forget earlier context when a session ends, or build memory only inside one company’s service. Unibase says it will keep agents’ memory and identity in decentralised storage, not a company server, so memory carries across platforms and users control their own data; an agent in another app could, for example, pick up preferences a user shared yesterday. It calls the goal an ‘open agent internet’.

OpenOS Labs appears as the developer in its documentation and code repositories, but the founders and core team are not publicly named. A test network opened in 2024 and the token was issued in 2025. On the Crypto Nation map, UB stands in BNB Chain City, because BNB Chain counts as its home chain.

2. How it works

There are three core parts. Membase is a memory store that keeps agents’ identities, conversation histories and settings and manages access; AIP is a protocol that lets different agents exchange messages in a common format; and Unibase DA is a data-availability layer that spreads data across nodes and lets anyone check on-chain that it is stored.

Zero-knowledge proofs, which prove something is correct without revealing all of it, are used to show that stored memories have not been altered. AIP is designed to work with common connection methods such as MCP, and the project says it has integrated with agent frameworks such as ElizaOS and Virtuals.

3. The UB token and milestones

UB began trading on 12 September 2025 with a Binance Alpha listing and airdrop, and Binance futures opened the same day. Total supply is 10 billion; the token exists on BNB Chain and Ethereum, with most trading on BNB Chain. Only part of the supply circulated at launch; the rest is allocated to the foundation, team, ecosystem and others.

UB pays fees for storing memory, deploying agents and messaging between them, and locking it as veUB gives votes on protocol decisions. It is also staked to support memory nodes and agent infrastructure. Ecosystem projects include BitAgent, where agents collaborate, and automated trading agents.

4. Things to know

An anonymous team makes accountability harder. Metrics such as test-network agent counts or memory records are mostly self-reported, so real usage is hard to verify.

A large share of supply remains in foundation wallets and could reach the market later, and some analytics sites flag concerns about admin powers to mint or freeze tokens. AI agent infrastructure is also an early, crowded field where technology changes fast.
