United Stables (U): A BNB Chain Dollar Backed by Other Stablecoins
Launched December 2025; accepts cash, USDT, USDC and USD1
U is a US dollar stablecoin launched on BNB Chain in December 2025 by a company called United Stables. It accepts existing stablecoins as reserves, with the stated aim of pulling scattered dollar liquidity into one coin.
1. Who made it, and when
U is issued by United Stables Limited and was announced on December 18, 2025, on BNB Chain’s official blog as a ‘native stablecoin’ of the chain. The company’s website does not give details such as its country of registration or the names of its executives.
U has since been issued on Ethereum and TRON as well. It was listed on Binance in January 2026, with Kraken and other centralised exchanges following; because its ticker is a single letter, some show it as ‘USTABLES’.
2. Reserves, minting and redemption
According to the company, U is backed 1:1 by fiat currency and ‘trusted’ stablecoins held in segregated custody. What sets it apart is that existing stablecoins such as USDT, USDC and USD1 can be deposited directly as collateral to mint U. The idea is to wrap several dollar coins into one settlement unit so trading markets are less fragmented.
Only institutions that pass business verification (KYB) can mint new U or redeem it for dollars through the company’s portal; individuals buy and sell on exchanges or in DeFi. The company says reserve data is published through a Chainlink oracle and that attestation reports are released regularly.
3. Uses: DeFi and AI payments
From launch, U was connected to BNB Chain DeFi services such as PancakeSwap, Venus and Lista, and to the trading platform Aster, as a trading pair and collateral. It was also included in a BNB Chain campaign that waived network fees.
The company says U supports EIP-3009, a standard that lets someone authorise a transfer with a signature while another party pays the fee, aiming at small payments between AI agents. On the Crypto Nation map, U stands in BNB Chain City, because it was first issued on BNB Chain.
4. Things to know: a young coin outside major rulebooks
United Stables states on its website that U has not been registered or authorised under major regimes such as the EU’s MiCA, Hong Kong’s stablecoin ordinance or the US GENIUS Act, and it does not offer U to residents of the US, the EU or Hong Kong. Users may therefore have less protection than with supervised stablecoins.
Because part of the reserves are other stablecoins, U indirectly carries the risks of issuers such as Tether and Circle, and attestations are not full audits. The coin is young and little is known about its management, so its redemption terms and reserve disclosures deserve careful reading.
