Rain (RAIN): open prediction markets on Arbitrum

AI oracles settle outcomes; fees buy back and burn RAIN

Rain is a decentralized prediction-market protocol that runs on Arbitrum, an Ethereum layer 2, and RAIN is its token. Anyone can open a market that asks whether something will happen, and traders buy and sell shares in each possible outcome.

1. What it is and who runs it

A prediction market lets people trade ‘yes’ or ‘no’ shares on events whose outcome is not yet known, such as elections, sports or economic data. The price of a share can be read as the crowd’s estimate of the probability. Rain lets anyone create such a market in a short time and supports both public markets and private, invitation-only ones.

According to its disclosures, the token is issued and administered by the Rain Foundation, registered in Panama in July 2025. The company or people doing the actual development are not described in detail, and Blockworks’ token-transparency filing lists this as a data gap. The public beta opened in November 2025.

2. How it works: AMMs, AI oracles and burns

Prices in each market are set by an automated market maker (AMM), a pool of funds that quotes prices by formula, and the market’s creator supplies the first liquidity. Public markets are resolved by Delphi, an oracle in which several AI models check web sources. Anyone who disagrees can post collateral to dispute a result, which an AI judge called Lex reviews first and which can be escalated to a panel of human oracles.

The protocol says it charges 5% of trading volume: half rewards market creators, liquidity providers and resolvers, and the other 2.5% buys RAIN on the market and burns it. However, 10% of the burned amount is minted again for the foundation’s budget, so supply does not only shrink. Total supply is fixed at 1.15 trillion RAIN.

3. Milestones

On November 24, 2025, Enlivex, an Israeli biotech company listed on Nasdaq, announced a $212 million private placement to buy RAIN as its main treasury asset. It was the first attempt to run a ‘digital asset treasury’ strategy, in which a listed company accumulates one coin, around a prediction-market token. In March 2026 the Rain Foundation launched a $5 million grant program and an interface that lets AI agents create markets from a single text prompt.

On the Crypto Nation map, RAIN stands in Arbitrum One because it was issued on Arbitrum. It is a separate project from ARB, Arbitrum’s governance token; for Rain, Arbitrum is simply the chain it builds on.

4. Things to know

In July 2026, L2BEAT removed team-held RAIN from its Total Value Secured figure for Arbitrum, noting that a very large amount of the token sits in team wallets. Critics argue the token’s value is far out of line with actual usage, and an L2BEAT researcher said its price appeared to be manipulated. If the team or Enlivex sold large amounts, thin trading could magnify the impact.

An audit of the token found a single owner account with power over minting, the price oracle and upgrades, and parts of the white paper do not match the audit. Letting AI settle outcomes is new but can produce wrong results, and prediction markets can fall under gambling laws in many countries.
