TON (The Open Network) is a blockchain designed by the Durov brothers, who created the Telegram messenger. Telegram stepped away in 2020 over US regulatory problems, and the community and the TON Foundation took it over and grew it.
Because it can be used straight from the wallet and mini apps inside Telegram, many game and social tokens were launched on it. Its own coin, known as Toncoin (TON), was renamed in June 2026 to Gram (GRAM), the name originally planned.
