Bittensor is a decentralised AI network that started in 2021. Each “subnet” takes on a different AI job — language models, images, prediction, data collection — and participants who deliver good results are rewarded in TAO. Like Bitcoin, TAO has a 21 million cap and halvings.
Since February 2025 (dTAO) every subnet has its own token, so subnet tokens stand around the TAO tower in this city. The number after SN in a token’s symbol is its subnet number.
